After Ms Shera Lee, General Manager of Dah Sing Bank whipped her visa card, her mobile phone immediately got a SMS alert powered by DNA (Digital Network Alert System), and the message read an amount of HK$1,000 transaction was being made on 23rd May 2001. Ms Lee¡¦s demonstration officially launched Dah Sing¡¦s ¡§Go Smart Card¡¨ embedded with DNA technology on 23rd May 2001.

With the philosophy of ¡§Innovation & Progression¡¨, Dah Sing Bank has pledged to provide exclusive and novel services to its customers. Dah Sing Bank takes the lead to combine its multi-function banking service with DNA technology in order to let its customers be in touch with cutting edge technology incorporating banking service. ¡§Go Smart Card¡¨, going with ¡§Go Smart Account¡¨, enables both savings & spending functions which differentiate it from other credit cards. Recently, credit card frauds have been often reported; there is no perfect precaution is available until the emergence of ¡§Go Smart Card¡¨. As demonstrated by Ms Lee, ¡§Go Smart Card¡¨ holders are enjoying extra security on purchase with the Go Smart Card. Whenever a transaction is made (the amount limit decided by the subscriber), the card holder will receive a SMS on his/her mobile or pager alerting him/her of the transaction details including the amount, time & date. If it is unauthorized, then s/he can at once call the card center and minimize further loss. Customers need not to worry about the telecom network issue as DNA is operated on a cross-network platform. Therefore, no matter which telephone network you are using, you can receive the alert powered by DNA.
